CREW volunteer & photographer Linda Jacobson leads this 3-hour beginner photography walk at the CREW Marsh Hiking Trails.
In this informal strolling class we’ll take a walk through the watershed looking for amazing things to experience and image with our DSLR, Point and Shoot or iPhone/Pod cameras.
Experience and see how texture, lighting, shadow and composition can make for a compelling image. Also discussed will be photo finishing, storage, online image resources for storage and display (galleries.)
This is meant to be a relaxing, no-pressure class held out in a dynamic and variable location - on the CREW trails! So anything can happen!
Limited to 10 participants.
AUDIENCE: adults; intended for “point & shoot” digital camera users; cell phone users, beginners, even those with sophisticated cameras.
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:
- Desire to learn;
- Ability to be on your feet/walk for 3 hours;
- Have and bring a functioning camera;
- Have extra batteries for your camera;
- Bring hiking shoes, a pack, water, sunscreen, long pants (for off trail adventure.), clothing and footwear appropriate for walking in wooded and possibly wet areas;
- Bring plastic bag(s) to protect equipment from rain;

Is there an age limit for the event?
This workshop is for adults.
What are the parking/facilities like at the event?
There is a gravel parking lot at the trailhead. There is one portable restroom at the trailhead.
What are the trails like?
The trails are mostly grassy/sandy ground level trails with some boardwalk sructures over wet areas. Expect seasonlly wet/muddy places on the trails during the rainy season (July - November).
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes. You may give your spot to someone else. Be sure to change the information on your registration page or call us at 239-657-2253.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, you may update your registration information up to one day before the event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. We do not issue print tickets. Simply check in with the event leader at the time of the event.
